With over 8 years of expertise in the field, he holds advanced fellowships in these areas from various locations in the UK. Mr Al-Wattar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS T&O) and the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (FEBOT), with additional higher academic research degrees focusing on enhancing safety in Trauma & Orthopaedic theatres. He is also a member of esteemed professional organisations like BESS, BSSH, BOA, RCS, and BMA. His impressive training background includes a primary medical qualification from Iraq in 2001, followed by completion of Trauma and Orthopaedic training in the UK. Mr Al-Wattar's special interests lie in WALANT surgery and providing a comprehensive upper limb service, particularly in Shoulder Surgery (rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocations), Elbow Surgery (arthritis, ligament injuries), and Hand & Wrist Surgery (Dupuytren's disease, tendon transfers). He has published several research papers and holds qualifications such as MBChB, MRCS, MSc, and MCh. Additionally, Mr Al-Wattar has taken on research roles as Associate Principal Investigator for the PROFHER 2 Trial and as a Research Investigator for the HEALTH RCT, focusing on Hip Fracture Evaluation.
