Professor Xavier Griffin is a renowned trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with over a decade of experience. He currently holds the inaugural Chair of a clinical and academic collaboration in orthopaedic surgery at Barts and The London School of Medicine. Specialising in treating broken bones and muscle injuries in adults and children, hip replacements, and hip reconstruction post-traumatic injury, he is a national specialist in severe injuries of the pelvis bone and hip socket. Professor Griffin completed his training in Bristol and the West Midlands, followed by fellowship-level training in Australia. His PhD focused on investigating musculoskeletal pain causes, and he is actively involved in nationwide research studies and clinical trials, while also mentoring orthopaedic surgery trainees. With NHS posts at Barts Health NHS Trust and The Royal London Hospital, Professor Griffin's specialties include trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with sub-specialties in general orthopaedics and hip-related procedures. His areas of expertise cover hip arthroplasty, trauma management, post-traumatic reconstruction of the hip, and various fractures in the upper and lower limbs. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he is a member of prestigious medical associations, showcasing his commitment to advancing orthopaedic care.
