Vigdis Thorisdottir is an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 25 years of expertise. She specialises in musculoskeletal conditions affecting the foot and ankle, with a particular interest in foot and ankle surgery. Miss Thorisdottir completed her general surgical training in London and her Trauma and Orthopaedic specialty training in the East of England. She underwent subspecialist fellowship training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford under the guidance of Mr. Paul Cooke, a renowned foot and ankle surgeon. Miss Thorisdottir has been a NHS consultant at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds since 2008 and has an independent practice at St Edmunds hospital. Having obtained her qualifications from the University of Iceland and the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Miss Thorisdottir is a dedicated member of various professional bodies such as the British Orthopaedic Association, British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the British Medical Association. She currently serves as the clinical lead for Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery at the West Suffolk Hospital.
