Mr Tim Parratt is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on hip and knee surgery, particularly in hip and knee replacement/revision replacement and soft tissue knee reconstruction. With over 18 years of expertise, he has worked in various hospitals including the Royal London Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Mr Parratt's research fellowship on cartilage injury and regeneration has influenced his interest in cartilage regeneration procedures. He holds a fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction from the RNOH and currently practices at Colchester General Hospital. Training on the Stanmore training rotation, Mr Parratt gained valuable experience in district general hospitals and tertiary referral centres, culminating in a fellowship at the RNOH under renowned surgeons. He is actively involved in developing services related to operative orthopaedics, serving as the Unit Training Director at CGH and a board member of the Iceni Centre. Mr Parratt also leads the enhanced recovery programme at CGH, designed to prepare patients for surgery and promote a smooth recovery. Beyond his medical profession, he enjoys family time and is passionate about sports, particularly rugby, having played internationally at a youth level. Specialising in treating patients with osteoarthritis, Mr Parratt performs a range of joint replacement surgeries, including total hip and knee replacements with patient-specific implants. He also excels in partial knee replacements such as unicompartmental knee replacement and patello-femoral joint replacement. His expertise extends to revision hip and knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, meniscal surgery, and cartilage regeneration procedures. Mr Parratt's dedication to his patients and advancing orthopaedic care is reflected in his commitment to research areas such as patello-femoral instability, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and enhanced recovery techniques.
