Mr Tom Ember is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon with years of expertise in treating both adult and paediatric patients with spinal pathology. He qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School (University of London) and completed specialist training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, including a Spinal Fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Currently, he holds NHS appointments at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the Spinal MDT at London Bridge Hospital. Mr Ember's special interests lie in trauma & orthopaedic surgery, with subspecialties in paediatric and spine surgery, offering video and telephone consultations to his patients. With a focus on adult and paediatric spinal pathology, Mr Tom Ember specialises in a wide range of conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, disc prolapse, spinal deformities, and spinal tumours, among others. His research interests include fixation to pelvis in neuromuscular scoliosis and the use of standing frames in neuro muscular scoliosis cases. He is dedicated to collecting data to investigate the protective effects of standing frames in preventing the development of malignant curves, showcasing his commitment to advancing patient care through research and innovative approaches.
