Simon West

Mr Simon West is an experienced Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery with over 20 years of expertise. He completed his basic surgical training in South Wales and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1998. Specialising in joint replacement of the hip and knee, including primary and revision surgery, Mr West also undertakes knee keyhole surgery and cartilage procedures. He worked as an NHS Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Northampton General Hospital from 2005 to 2014 and has been established in private practice at Three Shires Hospital since 2005. Additionally, he has practicing privileges at One Hatfield Hospital since 2017. With NHS posts at BMI Three Shires Hospital, One Healthcare Hatfield, and West Herts Healthcare Trust, Mr Simon West excels in complex hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopic procedures, and treating various knee conditions. A member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Hip Society, and European Hip Society, he offers courses to General Practitioners on hip replacement principles, revision hip procedures, and knee injections. Qualifying with an FRCS Edin in 1998 and an MB BCh in 1991, Mr Simon West holds a prestigious FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2004 from Combined Colleges Surgery.
