Mr Santosh Venkatachalam is an experienced consultant orthopaedic trauma surgeon specialising in upper limb conditions and sports injuries, particularly those affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hands. With years of expertise, he completed his higher specialist orthopaedic training in the northern region and has held positions at various hospitals in the Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, and Middlesbrough areas. He has received prestigious fellowships at upper limb specialist units in Wrightington Hospital, Manchester, and Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. Additionally, he has been recognised with visiting fellowships from renowned organisations like the British Elbow and Shoulder Society and the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma Arthroscopy Association. Having trained in the Newcastle area, Mr Santosh Venkatachalam has extensive experience in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, focusing on areas such as hand & wrist as well as shoulder & elbow. He is actively involved in research, frequently presenting at national and international conferences, with multiple publications on the management of clavicle fractures and hand fractures. Furthermore, he is dedicated to education, mentoring junior medical students and contributing to the undergraduate orthopaedic curriculum.
