Mr Parmar is an experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery at Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust. With specialist expertise in trauma, joint replacement, and arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, he graduated from the University of Manchester in 2000 and has since obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010. Mr Parmar is actively involved in teaching, regularly instructing on trauma courses and being a faculty member on various international upper limb courses. He has a keen interest in research, presenting his work nationally and internationally, and maintains a medicolegal practice in addition to supporting orthopaedics in developing countries. Having trained in Manchester, Stoke, and Sydney, Mr Parmar won competitive specialist fellowships at prestigious units such as Wrightington and Liverpool Upper Limb and Trauma at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. He has also undergone further training in Europe and North America, including a visit to the Mayo Clinic. His sub-specialties include hand and wrist, shoulder and elbow surgeries, with a particular focus on conditions like arthritis, rotator cuff issues, joint replacements, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Mr Parmar is an active member of multiple professional societies including the British Orthopaedics Association and British Elbow and Shoulder Society, reflecting his dedication to delivering patient-focused care for various upper limb conditions. Apart from his medical commitments, Mr Parmar is involved in charitable activities, being a founding member of the North West Orthopaedic Trauma Alliance for Africa and The Frostick Foundation charities. Additionally, he serves as the president of the Northwest Upper Limb Group, showcasing his commitment to advancing orthopaedic care and patient outcomes.
