Richard Pickard is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in all spinal conditions. With years of expertise, he completed advanced training at a renowned spinal centre in Oxford, followed by a consultant role at the Oxford Spinal Unit before relocating to Berkshire. Currently, he serves as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon in the NHS at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals. Mr Pickard's practice covers a wide range of spinal surgeries and treatments, including microdiscectomy, spinal fusion, disc replacement, and minimally invasive procedures. Mr Pickard's special interests include radiofrequency ablation, lumbar and cervical spine disorders, epidural injections, and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He is actively involved in teaching programs in London and the South, contributing to the advancement of spinal surgery practices. Additionally, he provides trauma and spinal surgical support to the British Forces, with past deployment experience in Afghanistan. His dedication to research is evident through extensive publications and presentations at national and international conferences. Outside his medical practice, Richard Pickard enjoys family time with his wife, who is a GP, and their three children along with their two springer spaniels.
