Richard Carrington

Mr Richard Carrington is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Knee and Hip Surgery. With over 30 years of expertise, he qualified as a doctor in 1989 from St Bartholomew's Hospital and completed higher surgical training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital programme. He served as a Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Sciences for 2 years and has been a Consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital since 2002, where he also holds the position of Clinical Lead of the Joint Reconstruction unit since 2003. Having received his FRCS in 1994 and FRCS (Tr + Orth) in 2000 from the RCS, Mr Carrington specializes in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery, with sub-specialties in Hip and Knee surgeries. He is a member of prestigious associations such as the British Orthopaedics Association, British Hip Society, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Additionally, he has published extensively, including being the Editor of the Oxford Textbook of Orthopaedics and Trauma. His research interests include outcomes of hip and knee replacements, Articular Cartilage Transplantation, post Knee and Hip Replacement function, and designing new knee replacement implants. Apart from his professional accomplishments, Mr Carrington enjoys cycling, sailing, and skiing in his personal time. He actively contributes to training by providing lectures and seminars to General Practitioners at international and national meetings, showcasing his commitment to education and knowledge exchange in the field of orthopaedic surgery.
