Mr Ravindra Gudena, a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, specialises in primary and revision Hip and Knee replacement surgeries. With over a decade of expertise, he has pioneered the use of 3D technology in Orthopaedics, particularly in 3D printed ConforMIS knee replacements and customised Hip replacements. Mr Gudena has a special interest in hip impingement, young adult hip problems, and has undergone training in Hip Arthroscopy. He is renowned for using advanced techniques like n-Stride injections and stem cell injections to prevent arthritis. Notably, he has received the Fellow of Royal Colleges Award and has a strong academic background with numerous publications in his field. Having completed Fellowships in Canada and the USA to enhance his clinical and academic experience, Mr Gudena is acclaimed for performing over 300 primary joint replacement procedures and 50 hip and knee revision surgeries annually. He is one of the few surgeons in the region capable of conducting HIP ARTHROSCOPY and peri-acetabular osteotomies for dysplastic hips. As the Clinical lead for infection control and thromboprophylaxis at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, he is dedicated to maintaining high standards in patient care. His areas of interest span from infection control to innovative surgeries like keyhole procedures and patient-specific knee replacements. Aside from his medical pursuits, Mr Gudena is also recognised for his research interests in joint replacements' bearing surfaces and infection control. His commitment to excellence in Orthopaedics extends to his role as the joint replacement surgery lead and BOA Champion for Joint replacements at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, showcasing his dedication to advancing the field and improving patient outcomes.
