Ravichandran Karthikeyan

Mr Ravichandran Karthikeyan is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with over a decade of expertise in his field. He completed his Higher Specialist Training in Orthopaedics in 2010, followed by prestigious fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty and pelvis and acetabular reconstruction. As a Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham since 2013, his specialisations include Total Hip arthroplasty, Complex Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma, Complex Lower limb Trauma, and Periposthetic fractures. He provides a tertiary regional service in Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma in the West Midlands and is actively involved in teaching and training medical students at the University of Birmingham. With a strong academic background, Mr Karthikeyan holds various qualifications including an MBBS from Madras Medical College, India, and fellowships from esteemed institutions such as the Royal College of Surgeons and the University of Birmingham. He is a Consultant Trainer for the West Midlands Orthopaedic Specialist Training Programme and a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. Specialising in Hip and Trauma, his research interests lie in Hip Arthroplasty and Trauma. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Hip Society, showcasing his commitment to excellence in his practice.
