Mr Prabhakar Rao is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon with years of expertise in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery. He obtained his MBBS from Krnool Medical College in 1995 and completed his MS in Orthopaedics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Mr Rao has a special interest in Spine sub-specialty, focusing on areas such as back pain, sciatica, disc prolapse, spinal fusion, neck and arm pain, among others. He currently holds a position at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Having completed an accredited spinal fellowship at University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, Mr Rao is trained in complex spinal surgery, including minimally invasive techniques. He is dedicated to furthering his expertise, currently pursuing the European Spine Diploma course. As a member of various prestigious associations such as the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Association, he actively contributes to the field through research publications and conference presentations. His research interests include minimally invasive spinal surgery, disc degeneration, and spinal biomechanics. Outside of his medical practice, Mr Rao is a devoted family man with a keen interest in spending time with his two young daughters. His commitment to teaching higher surgical trainees and his involvement in advanced spinal surgical technique courses showcase his passion for education and knowledge sharing in the field of orthopaedic surgery.
