Mr Philip Holland is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Shoulder and Elbow surgery with over 15 years of expertise. He graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2005 and completed his surgical training in Merseyside, including a Master of Science degree with Distinction at Salford University. In 2015, he finished his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training and underwent advanced training in shoulder arthroscopy and shoulder arthroplasty with internationally renowned surgeons at South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust. Philip was appointed as an NHS consultant at South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust in 2016, where he treats a wide range of shoulder conditions, including military personnel, sports injuries, and arthritic shoulder conditions. He is actively involved in national and international studies, with a special interest in teaching and providing advanced training to shoulder surgeons. Having completed various fellowships and trainings in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, including Advanced Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty, Philip Holland has become a specialist in treating complex upper limb injuries and managing shoulder conditions. His areas of special interest include Shoulder and Elbow Arthroscopy (Keyhole Surgery), Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty (Joint Replacement Surgery), shoulder stabilisation, rotator cuff repair, frozen shoulder treatment, and subacromial impingement treatment. Philip is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS). He has published extensively in orthopaedic journals and actively participates in national and international shoulder surgery research studies. Beyond his medical practice, Mr Philip Holland is an outdoor pursuits enthusiast with a passion for kayaking and sailing. He has kayaked in various locations worldwide, including Nepal, Norway, Slovenia, and Italy, experiencing white water adventures. Additionally, he enjoys skippering yachts through busy ports and remote areas of Scotland. With a keen interest in cycling, he is currently exploring the challenge of conquering the 100 greatest cycling climbs.
