Mr Paul Parker is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in lower limb sports medicine, soft tissue knee and ankle reconstruction, and the diagnosis and management of knee, foot, and ankle injuries. With over 24 years of expertise, he has performed ACL surgery and revision ACL surgery in both the NHS and the private sector. Mr Parker also focuses on ankle arthroscopy and treats military personnel due to his extensive experience with the specific injury patterns of the military. His interests extend to general wear and tear problems of the knee, ankle, foot, and toes, including plantar fasciitis and joint preservation techniques. Additionally, Mr Parker is known for his contributions to trauma physiology research. Having qualified in medicine from Queen�s University Belfast in 1985, Mr Parker went on to become a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1998 after training in London, Edinburgh, and the US. He has served in various NHS roles across different hospitals before settling at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Alongside his medical career, Mr Parker holds the rank of Colonel in the British Army, providing him with a deep understanding of treating military personnel. With a focus on sports injuries, ligament injuries, cartilage regeneration techniques, and trauma, he offers consultations at various locations in the North East of England and the Midlands. Mr Parker's expertise is backed by multiple accolades and membership in professional societies like the Combined Services Orthopaedic Society. Outside of his medical practice, Mr Parker enjoys skiing, hill walking, and running. He has also served as a pitch side doctor for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and as a consulting orthopaedic surgeon for Middlesbrough Football Club games. His dedication to research includes interests in topics such as blast and ballistic injury, blood transfusion, and team dynamics in surgery.
