Surgeon Bio
Mr Paul Culpan is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, with expertise in hip and knee surgeries. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1996, undertook his surgical training at Bart's and the Royal London Hospital, and completed a fellowship in Paris under Professor Judet. Mr Culpan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and has extensive experience in complex joint replacements, pelvic and acetabular fractures, and trauma surgery. He currently holds a consultant position at St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Hospital, where he serves as the Head of Lower Limb Trauma. With over 15 years of experience, Mr Paul Culpan specialises in arthroscopic knee surgeries, sports injuries, primary and revision knee replacements, as well as primary hip replacements using minimally invasive techniques. His expertise extends to complex hip reconstruction, pelvic and acetabular trauma surgery, and lower limb trauma surgery. Mr Culpan has received awards for his contributions to Total Hip Replacement techniques and has published research articles in various orthopaedic journals. He also provides video and telephone consultations and offers courses to General Practitioners on the Latest Techniques in Total Hip Replacement. Outside of his medical practice, Mr Paul Culpan is a family man who enjoys travelling with his wife and young daughter. Having lived and worked abroad for several years, he has a keen interest in exploring different cultures, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa. In his leisure time, he engages in contemporary art appreciation, sports activities, and skiing, showcasing his diverse range of interests beyond the operating theatre.
