Currently, he serves as the Clinical Service Lead for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Trauma at UHB, focusing on developing new pathways and policies to enhance patient care. His approach involves both non-surgical and surgical interventions to preserve the natural joint whenever possible. With sub-specialties in hip and knee procedures, Panos is known for utilising minimally invasive hip surgery techniques, such as the Direct Superior Approach. By sparing essential muscles necessary for normal gait, this approach ensures faster rehabilitation, reduces the risk of abnormal gait development, and enhances patient satisfaction with smaller scars and quicker return to baseline activity post-surgery. Panos FRCS has been actively involved in educating general practitioners through courses focusing on topics like Painful Hip, Examination of the Hip, Bone Loss in Revision Hip Surgery, and Acute Painful Knee. In addition to his contributions in the medical field, Panos has also been recognised for his work, receiving awards related to his areas of expertise. Through his dedication to advancements in orthopaedic care, Panos continues to make significant strides in the field, improving patient outcomes and experiences.
