Mr Mike Kent is a fellowship trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with special interests in primary and revision hip replacement, hip trauma surgery, and primary knee replacement. He qualified as a doctor from Guy�s King�s and St Thomas� Hospitals Medical School in 2004 and completed his basic surgical training in Australia and on the south coast before being appointed to the Wessex higher training scheme in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013 and completed a postgraduate MSc in Trauma Surgery at the University of Swansea in the same year. Mr Kent has over 1000 personal joint replacements as a consultant and has been a highly rated trainer. He is a believer in enhanced recovery principles and has pioneered a successful day case joint replacement pathway. He has published research papers in his fields of interest and is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Hip Society, and Orthopaedic Trauma Society. Mr Mike Kent is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospitals Dorset, Poole Hospital, the Bournemouth Private Clinic, and Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital. He has completed various fellowships specializing in Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, Orthopaedic Oncology, and Trauma. He is also a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Hip Society, and Orthopaedic Trauma Society. Mr Kent has published several research papers and continues to present at international conferences and webinars. In addition to his medical career, Mr Kent has personal interests in kitesurfing, running, and cycling. His research interests include enhanced recovery after joint replacement, day case arthroplasty, and quality improvement in trauma. Mr Kent's qualifications include MBBS, BSc (Physiology), MRCS, MSc (Trauma Surgery), and FRCS (Tr&Orth). He received awards for his work in enhanced recovery after joint replacement and day case arthroplasty.
