Mr Michael Hockings is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon specializing in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, specifically knee and hip surgery. He completed his medical training at St Andrews University in Scotland and Manchester University, obtaining a Bachelor of Medical Science in 1989 and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1992. He furthered his expertise with a Masters in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University in 1999. Mr Hockings became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2001, focusing on trauma and orthopaedics. After his training, Mr Hockings spent a year in Toronto specializing in knee and hip surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Torbay Hospital in 2003, where he currently works full-time. From 2013 to 2016, he served as the head of the Department of Orthopaedics as Clinical Director. Mr Hockings is actively involved in teaching and training junior surgeons and has been an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK since 2009. He was recognized as Trainer of the Year in the South West region in 2013. Additionally, he attends national conferences in knee surgery and is a Fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association.
