Mr. Matthew Kent is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon with over a decade of expertise specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. He completed his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Cambridge region, followed by advanced fellowships in upper limb trauma and elbow surgery at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals. Mr. Kent was appointed as a Consultant at the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2011. He further enhanced his skills through prestigious fellowships from the British Shoulder and Elbow Society, allowing him to incorporate new techniques from specialist centers in North America and Europe. His training includes a Fellowship in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery, and he holds memberships in key medical associations such as the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, Northwest Upper Limb Group, British Orthopaedic Association, and Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr. Kent's research interests focus on rotator cuff repair, shoulder and elbow replacements, and shoulder trauma. He has published extensively in reputable journals on various topics such as elbow arthritis management, proximal humeral locking plates, MRSA screening in orthopaedic trauma patients, and more. Outside of his surgical commitments, Mr. Kent enjoys cycling, walking, and skiing. His dedication to expanding research and education is evident in his roles as the president of the North West Upper Limb Group and his involvement in organizing educational meetings for upper limb surgeons. Additionally, he has taken part in prestigious events like the Liverpool Shoulder Masterclass Meeting and has been a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, showcasing his expertise in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery.
