Mark Brown is a retired NHS spine surgeon with over 23 years of experience. He has a special interest in back and neck pain, as well as arm and leg pain caused by trapped nerves. Although he is no longer performing surgeries, his opinion is highly regarded, and he works closely with colleagues who can provide private spine surgeries when needed. Mark has held various positions within the NHS, including Medical Examiner at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust and Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. He was also an Honorary Consultant Spine Surgeon at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry. Mark's qualifications include a Master of Arts and a PhD from Cambridge University, as well as a MBBChir from Cambridge University. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and has completed additional training courses, such as the RCPathME. Mark has received various awards throughout his career, most notably from Nuffield Health North Staffs. Outside of his medical career, Mark has personal interests in music, singing, bell ringing, antiques, and motor sports. His research interests include intervertebral disc physiology and spinal infections. Mark is listed on the Specialist Register with the General Medical Council since 1997 and continues to contribute to the medical field despite his retirement from surgery.
