Mr Majid Chowdhry is an experienced knee and hip orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in sports injuries. He underwent specialist training in the South-East Thames region of London and currently works as a knee and hip sports injury, arthroplasty, and polytrauma consultant at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. Mr Chowdhry has been trained by world-renowned sports surgeons in Toronto, Canada and has treated both elite and recreational athletes. His specific areas of expertise include sports knee injuries, ACL and complex ligament reconstruction, knee joint preservation, meniscal surgery, and hip and knee replacements. He also performs revision hip and knee arthroplasty and treats fractures of the knee, hip, and pelvis. Mr Chowdhry's interest in sports injuries comes from his own experience as a sportsman, having played cricket and hockey at a high level. He is an honorary lecturer in Sports and Exercise Medicine and has a Masters in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. Mr Chowdhry offers his services at several hospitals including Spire Montefiore Hospital, Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital, Nuffield Health Haywards Heath Hospital, and Spire Gatwick Park Hospital. His specialty is trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with sub-specialties in hip and knee procedures. In addition to his work in orthopaedics, Mr Chowdhry has a passion for teaching and research. He is an honorary lecturer in Sports and Exercise Medicine, contributing to the teaching and research arms of his field.
