About
Mr Lennel Lutchman is a highly experienced consultant Spinal Surgeon based in Norfolk. He qualified in medicine from the University of the West Indies and completed his training in East Anglia. In 2004, he won the Gold Medal for the Orthopaedic Specialty exam. Since 2006, Mr Lutchman has been a consultant Spinal Surgeon at NNUH and is the lead for spinal training on the East of England Orthopaedic Training Programme. He is also an examiner for the FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Mr Lutchman offers Saturday spinal clinics once a month to accommodate patients who cannot attend during weekdays. Mr Lutchman is highly respected by his colleagues and often asked to care for their families. Mr Lutchman has a special interest in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with a particular focus on spinal conditions. He is a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS) and the British Scoliosis Society (BSS). He has published several articles in reputable medical journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Injury, European Spine Journal, and Journal of Accident and Emergency Medicine. Mr Lutchman is actively involved in teaching and often conducts courses for General Practitioners. He also teaches at GP CME sessions and lectures to GP trainees on spinal problems and back pain. Outside of his medical career, Mr Lutchman enjoys spending time with his family. He attends the gym with his son and has a keen interest in reading historical fiction and biographies. He is also a fan of cricket and enjoys watching Test matches with his friends. Overall, Mr Lutchman leads a fulfilling life with a fantastic wife, four children, and one adorable grand-daughter. In terms of research, Mr Lutchman is specifically interested in Cauda Equina Syndrome, spinal infections, and the outcome of scoliosis correction. He is dedicated to advancing knowledge in these areas to improve patient care and outcomes.
