Mr Akhtar has completed a subspecialty fellowship in knee surgery and has been awarded the prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship. He also serves as a Reader in Orthopaedic Surgery & Surgical Education at Barts and the London School of Medicine & Dentistry, alongside other notable positions in the field. His training includes a Specialist Knee Fellowship, Fellowship in Medical Education, and Leadership & Management. Mr Akhtar's specialisations lie in knee surgery, particularly in sports injuries, trauma, and joint replacement. He is associated with various professional memberships, including the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK), British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), and Royal College of Surgeons England (RCS).
