Mr Kash Akhtar is an experienced Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knees at Barts Health NHS Trust. With over 15 years of expertise, he holds a Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Fellowship, and various advanced degrees, including a Masters in Medical Education and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree. Mr Akhtar has completed a subspecialty fellowship in knee surgery and has been awarded the prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship. He also serves as a Reader in Orthopaedic Surgery & Surgical Education at Barts and the London School of Medicine & Dentistry, alongside other notable positions in the field. His training includes a Specialist Knee Fellowship, Fellowship in Medical Education, and Leadership & Management. Mr Akhtar's specialisations lie in knee surgery, particularly in sports injuries, trauma, and joint replacement. He is associated with various professional memberships, including the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK), British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), and Royal College of Surgeons England (RCS). On top of his NHS roles, he is deeply involved in surgical education and is the Training Programme Director for the Royal London Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery rotation.
