He completed his training in London at The Royal London Hospital and underwent registrar training in Cambridge and East Anglia. To further enhance his expertise, he also completed a specialized Spinal Fellowship in Brisbane, Australia. His areas of specialization include paediatric and adult scoliosis, spinal deformity, back pain, neck pain, degenerative spinal problems, sciatica, spinal tumours, spinal trauma, and fractures. John holds various NHS posts, including the position of Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is a member of several esteemed professional organizations, such as the British Association of Spine Surgeons, British Scoliosis Society, UK Spine Societies Board, British Orthopaedic Association, Fellow Royal College Surgeons, British Orthopaedic Association, Seddon Society, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
