Jo Dartnell is a highly experienced consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery. She obtained her medical degree with distinction in 2004 and completed her Basic Surgical Training in North East London. During her Higher Surgical Training, she worked as a paediatric orthopaedic registrar in renowned hospitals such as Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and Evelina Children's Hospital. Ms Dartnell also gained an MSc in Trauma & Orthopaedics and contributed to national guidelines with her dissertation on Musculoskeletal Infection in children. She further enhanced her skills with fellowships at Evelina Children's Hospital and National University Hospital in Singapore. In 2015, she was appointed as a Consultant at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. Ms Dartnell's specializations include limb deformity, particularly in children, resulting from birth abnormalities, trauma, or infection. She is skilled in limb reconstruction, using techniques such as acute corrections and external fixator frames. She also has expertise in treating hip problems in childhood, including dysplasia, Perthes disease, and slipped capital epiphysis. For knee problems and pain, including sports injuries such as meniscal tears and osteochondral defects, she performs arthroscopic repairs. Additionally, she is experienced in trauma procedures and addresses normal variants such as in-toeing, out-toeing, bow legs, and knock knees. Outside of her medical practice, Jo Dartnell's interests include cycling, running, and spending time with her family.
