James Smith is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in lower limb surgery. With over 10 years of experience as a consultant, he performs a high volume of joint replacements per year, including complex procedures. He obtained his medical degree from St Georges� Hospital Medical School, University of London in 2000. Mr Smith completed his specialist Orthopaedic training on the South East Thames rotation, and also obtained the MRCS and Final FRCS Tr and Orth qualifications. He completed fellowships in Calgary, Canada and Guy's hospital, focusing on hip and knee surgery. Mr Smith was appointed Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford in 2012, where he developed a lower limb reconstruction service with a focus on enhanced recovery and minimal complications. Currently, his practice is entirely within the independent sector, and he also provides a specialist Orthopaedic Medicolegal reporting service. Mr Smith's specializations include trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with particular expertise in hip and knee surgeries. His areas of interest include knee arthroscopy, hip disorders, hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, knee surgery, partial knee replacement surgery, hip revision surgery, and trauma. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and has a GMC Specialist Registration as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon since 2012. His research interests lie in Lower Limb Arthroplasty. Outside of his professional life, Mr Smith has personal interests in all aspects of hip and knee surgery. He is dedicated to providing the highest quality care and regularly updates his knowledge and skills through medicolegal training.
