Mr James Ramos is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in lower limb surgery, including ankle replacements. He qualified as a doctor in 1981 and has obtained an MD in 1983 and a PhD in Orthopaedics in 1991. Mr Ramos completed his orthopaedic training in the Wessex region and obtained the FRCS (Orth) qualification. He currently holds a consultant position within Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust (Teaching). Mr Ramos has also completed visiting fellowships in centres of excellence in Spain, Switzerland, and the USA. His primary aim is to develop a comprehensive and multidisciplinary foot and ankle unit in the West Midlands. Mr Ramos's NHS post is with the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. His practice is divided into general orthopaedics and trauma, with a special interest in lower limb surgery and ankle replacements. His areas of interest include general trauma, joint replacements, ankle and lower limb disorders, minimal access/invasive surgery, foot surgery, and sports and dance injuries. Mr Ramos aims to provide comprehensive care for even the most challenging foot and ankle pathologies.
