Mr Ian Sharpe is a highly experienced and specialized orthopaedic surgeon. He graduated from St Mary's Hospital, London in 1991 and completed his general surgical and orthopaedic training in the South West of England. He has undertaken Fellowships in Sydney and Seattle, gaining his FRCS(Tr&Orth) accreditation in 2001. Mr Sharpe has been appointed as a consultant at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter since 2003. He established the Foot and Ankle unit, which has grown to include four consultants, and served as the Clinical Lead for the team from 2014 to 2021. He was also Clinical Director of the orthopaedic Centre from 2014 to 2018. He also practices at the Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital. His specialties include trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with a sub-specialty in Foot and Ankle. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the BMA. In addition to his qualifications and expertise, Mr Sharpe has a keen interest in research and has published papers on ankle replacement surgery. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys participating in triathlons and cycling.
