Mr. Ian Carmichael is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive experience in foot and ankle surgery. After completing his Orthopaedic training in Birmingham, he was appointed as a Consultant in Nottingham in 2006. He later moved to Rotherham in 2008, where he became a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Mr. Carmichael is fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery and performs a wide range of procedures, including toe surgery, complex reconstructions, ankle replacements, and ankle arthroscopy. He also has expertise in sports medicine and provides non-operative treatment for various sports-related conditions. In addition to his surgical practice, Mr. Carmichael is actively involved in teaching and has worked to enhance trauma services in South Yorkshire. Mr. Carmichael has held consultant positions at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and BMI Thornbury. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and holds a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He is a founding member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and a member of the British Foot and Ankle Society. Mr. Carmichael has published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and has conducted courses for General Practitioners on injection techniques and foot and ankle disorders. He obtained his MB ChB degree from Dundee University in 1987. In his spare time, Mr. Carmichael enjoys walking and swimming.
