Huw Pullen is a highly experienced Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in shoulder and knee conditions. He has undergone dual fellowship training and has extensive practice in his field. Huw is particularly skilled in treating shoulder injuries, performing shoulder and knee replacements. He has also traveled throughout Europe to receive additional training and to collaborate with fellow surgeons. Currently, he holds a consultant position at the Royal Gwent Hospital. In addition to his NHS role, Huw sees patients at St Joseph's Private Hospital and Nuffield Health Vale Hospital. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Elbow and Shoulder Surgeons. Huw has published several research papers, including studies on the outcomes of total shoulder replacements and the length of stay in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He is also dedicated to educating General Practitioners through regular talks. Huw Pullen obtained his medical degree (MBBCH) from the University of Wales in 2000 and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS Ed) in 2003. In 2009, he earned his fellowship (FRCS Tr +O) from the Royal College of Surgeons. He is registered as a specialist in Trauma and Orthopaedics with the GMC. Outside of work, Huw enjoys spending time with his family and participating in endurance sports such as triathlon, duathlon, running, cycling, and swim-run races. His research interests include shoulder replacement and the length of stay in arthroscopic surgery.
