Hosam Matar

Mr Hosam Matar is a highly experienced and specialized trauma and orthopaedic surgeon. He has a special interest in hip and knee replacements and revision surgery. Mr Matar completed his surgical training in London and the North West, including at the prestigious Wrightington Hospital. He was awarded The Charnley Latta Travelling Scholarship and completed a fellowship at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada. During his time there, he worked closely with renowned experts in joint replacement surgery, bringing back new techniques to the UK. Mr Matar has a strong research background, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications and involvement in national guidelines. He is currently a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Nottingham, working within the East Midlands Specialist Orthopaedic Network. Mr Matar's areas of interest include knee arthroscopy, total knee replacement, revision knee replacement, and total hip replacement. He has a wealth of experience and expertise in these areas and has presented his research both nationally and internationally. In addition to his research contributions, Mr Matar has also written book chapters and papers, and recently completed a collaborative book on revision knee replacements commissioned by Springer Publishing.
