Mr Greville Farrar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive expertise in knee surgery, sports injuries, and lower limb joint replacement. He has been working at Leighton Hospital since 2015, where he introduced joint preservation surgery and has performed over 1,000 joint replacements. Mr Farrar is particularly skilled in the assessment and management of ligament injuries of the knee and peri-articular fractures. He offers second opinions for patients with early onset arthritis or mal-alignment and specializes in joint preservation surgery, partial knee replacement, and patello-femoral knee replacement. Mr Farrar is also the trauma lead for orthopaedics at his NHS base hospital and has been actively involved in outcome monitoring and quality improvement initiatives. He is a Fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association and a member of various professional societies. Mr Farrar's qualifications include an MBBS (distinction) from Guy's, King's and St. Thomas' Medical School, a BSc (hons) from King's College London, and an FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also holds a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has received training and has been involved in teaching courses on knee surgery, knee arthritis, joint injections, and orthopaedic pathways for General Practitioners. Mr Farrar has been recognized for his contributions to training and has been shortlisted for the trainer of the year award. He has a keen interest in research, particularly in knee surgery and healthcare economics. Outside of his profession, Mr Farrar enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in activities such as DIY, rowing, and travel. He is passionate about the outdoors and is actively involved in various research projects related to knee surgery and healthcare economics.
