Mr Edward Powell-Smith is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. With years of expertise in orthopaedic surgery, he specialises in hand and wrist surgery, focusing on complex hand trauma, soft tissue injuries, and arthritic conditions of the hand and finger joint replacements. Mr Powell-Smith is actively involved in medical education and holds positions on the education and training committee of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the standards in Hand Surgery committee. Having qualified from University College London Medical School in 2000 and completing his higher orthopaedic surgical training in Wessex, Mr Powell-Smith further honed his skills through fellowships in orthopaedic and plastic hand and wrist surgery. His particular interests lie in the management of hand trauma, painful arthritis of the finger joints, and various nerve problems in the hand and arm.
