Professor David Warwick is a senior Hand Surgeon with over 23 years of experience, specializing in Hand and Wrist surgery. He is based at University Hospital Southampton and holds an Honorary Professorship from the University of Southampton. In 2021, he was awarded the Bronze Clinical Excellence award for his NHS contributions. Professor Warwick is one of Europe's leading experts in Dupuytren's Disease and has a Doctorate in this subject. He is also the President of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2020. He holds the European Diploma of Hand Surgery, the highest qualification in the field. Along with his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching, research, and writing, with numerous publications on Hand Surgery, including being the Editor and Lead Author of the Oxford Handbook of Hand Surgery. Professor Warwick's NHS posts include Consultant Hand Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton and Professorial Fellow at the University of Southampton. He is a member of various professional organizations, including the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, the British Orthopaedic Association, and the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society. He has completed fellowships in Hand Surgery and has received several qualifications, including an MD from the University of Bristol and FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons. Outside of his medical career, Professor Warwick enjoys cycling, skiing, driving, and traveling.
