Mr Senthil Kumar is a senior orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon based in Scotland. With over 20 years of experience, his special interests include sports injuries of the foot and ankle, ankle replacement surgery, and complex hindfoot deformity correction operations. He was a founder member of the Glasgow Sports Surgery Service, which treated elite athletes and dancers from Scottish Ballet and Glasgow Dance School. Mr Kumar has published numerous research papers on foot and ankle surgery and is actively involved in teaching and training. He was the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead Surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary from 2013 to 2018 and heads the Foot and Ankle Fellowship programme there. Mr Kumar has served as an examiner for the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in the UK and Ireland. Mr Kumar is currently a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in Scotland. He is also associated with Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital. His specialties include trauma and orthopaedic surgery, and he has a particular expertise in foot and ankle conditions. He has completed an Overseas Visiting Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery and offers video and telephone consultations to his patients. Mr Kumar regularly conducts patient information and GP education events and has received several awards for his contributions in the field. In addition to sports injuries, Mr Kumar's areas of interest include foot surgery, ankle surgery, ankle replacements, arthroscopy of the ankle, arthritis of the foot and ankle, and tendon disorders.
