Mr Amitabh Dwyer is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery with over 20 years of expertise. He has a sub-specialisation in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, including rotator cuff tears, instability, and dislocated acromio-clavicular joints. Apart from his extensive experience in shoulder replacement, Mr Dwyer also excels in upper and lower limb trauma surgery. He completed his medical training and higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in India, followed by FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Dwyer holds an advanced surgical fellowship in shoulder & elbow surgery from the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol. With a strong background in research and academia, Mr Amitabh Dwyer actively participates in research and has numerous Orthopaedic publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of esteemed societies such as the British Elbow & Shoulder Society, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and an international affiliate member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons. In addition, he is actively involved in training and examining medical professionals as an MRCS Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Dwyer's dedication to continuous learning is evident from his participation in various relevant courses and certifications. Outside of his medical career, Mr Amitabh Dwyer is a family man who enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He has a passion for swimming, travelling, and listening to music. Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Mr Dwyer serves as a reviewer for orthopaedic journals, a Director of Trauma Skills Course, and has contributed significantly to restructuring clinical services to enhance patient safety and outcomes. His research interests are broad, with a principal investigator role in a national trial aiming to improve the treatment of shoulder impingement syndrome.
