Alastair Marsh

Alastair Marsh is a specialist Foot and Ankle surgeon and Orthopaedic Trauma surgeon with extensive expertise in the field. He has years of experience in these areas and holds a MB ChB degree from the University of Birmingham Medical School and FRCS (Tr and Orth) qualification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. Mr Marsh is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the Orthopaedic Trauma Society. In addition to his private practice, Mr Marsh is also actively involved in the NHS. He holds a position as a Trauma Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, which is known as the busiest Major Trauma Centre in the UK. At the hospital, he collaborates closely with various healthcare professionals, including Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Orthotists, and specialist Consultants in Sport and Exercise Medicine. Mr Marsh's areas of specialisation include Foot and Ankle surgery, trauma, and video and telephone consultations. He has an interest in treating conditions such as ankle pain, foot pain, hallux valgus ('bunion'), non-union fractures, Achilles tendon issues, and trauma-related injuries. He also has expertise in minimally invasive forefoot surgery, sports injuries to the foot and ankle, and arthritis of the foot and ankle in adults. Outside of his medical career, Mr Marsh is a sports enthusiast, particularly in hockey, cricket, and rugby. His research interests revolve around Major Trauma, further showcasing his dedication to improving patient care and outcomes in this area.
