Akshay Mehra

Mr Akshay Mehra is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with particular expertise in Hip and Knee replacement as well as Knee arthroscopy surgery. He has over a decade of experience and has held positions at various prestigious institutions, including Wrightington Hospital and The Royal Orthopaedic, before joining Alexandra Hospital Redditch. Mr Mehra completed his training in Birmingham and further enhanced his skills through joint replacement fellowships in Leicester General Hospital and St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto. He is dedicated to providing a holistic approach to patient care, following the mantra of RIGHT Patient, RIGHT Surgery at RIGHT Time for the RIGHT Result. With years of expertise, Mr Mehra has focused his practice on Trauma & orthopaedic surgery, specialising in Hip and Knee procedures. He is a member of the hip and knee society, as well as the Royal College of Surgeons. Mr Mehra has been actively involved in teaching and training various medical professionals, including acting as an ATLS instructor and examiner on different courses. He holds qualifications such as FRCS Orth from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and an MSc from Lancaster University. Mr Mehra's commitment to excellence has been recognised through awards received in his field. Outside of his medical practice, Mr Mehra enjoys pursuing interests in sports like Badminton, Chess, and Cricket. His research interests align with his clinical focus, with a particular emphasis on Hip and Knee replacements.
