Ajit Shetty

Mr Ajit Shetty is an experienced Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacements, with advanced training in correcting faulty or failing replacements. He currently holds the position of Head of clinical service Trauma & Orthopaedics at Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. With over 20 years of expertise, Mr Shetty's special interests include re-do or revision hip and knee replacements. He has undergone additional training in joint replacement fellowship and has published in reputable journals such as the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. Having completed his F.R.C.S in Trauma & Orthopaedics in 1998 and a Joint replacement fellowship, Mr Shetty's qualifications include a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics from Liverpool University. He has also received accolades for his Minor and Advanced surgery courses for General Practitioners. Specialising in areas such as arthritis of the hip and knee, lower limb arthroplasty, and trauma surgery, Mr Shetty offers video and telephone consultations in addition to in-person visits. He is also involved in various research interests, particularly in Revision Hip Replacement and Metal on Metal Hip Replacement.
