Gorav Datta is a highly-experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee conditions and procedures. Gorav is actively involved in research, having completed his Doctorate of Medicine research degree at Imperial College London. He has numerous articles in orthopaedic journals and is actively involved in the teaching of undergraduates and surgical trainees. He plays an active role at the Unversity of Southampton as an honourary Senior Clinical Lecturer and also supervises medical students in their degree projects. This is balanced with his role as trauma research lead in his NHS hospital, conducting a number of clinic trials. Gorav has pioneered the use of stem cells to treat joint surface injuries in the knee and hip - ABICUS procedure. Patients describe him as considerate, thorough and reassuring.
