Daoud Makki is a highly-experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and upper limb procedures, including a broad range of elbow, wrist and hand procedures. He is known throughout his field as being a highly innovative surgeon and keeping himself up to date, and pioneering the latest technological advances in orthopaedics. He has special expertise in one of the latest arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder called “the superior capsular reconstruction”, whereby a piece of human tissue called a dermal allograft is used to replace the irreparable rotator cuff tendon. He has adopted his own innovative technique in this procedure and presented his work at the international level. He is dedicated to training colleagues and is a faculty member on the Wrightington basic science course for higher surgical trainees.
