Rhinoplasty Surgery Risks and Complications FAQs
What Effect Do Smoking, Alcohol, and Drugs Have on a Rhinoplasty?
There can be an increase in the risk of complications from surgery if you are a smoker. We strongly recommend that you stop smoking and using all nicotine products at least six weeks before and after rhinoplasty surgery. Furthermore, if you can reduce your alcohol consumption before your surgery, this can also benefit you.
Taking recreational drugs will also increase the risk of complications occurring during and after your procedure.
